Scottish Youth Poetry Slam 2018

Poetry Slam: an event in which 12 or more poets perform their work and are judged by a panel and audience reaction through heats.
To Slam: the competitive art of performance poetry, putting a dual emphasis on writing and performance – the what and the how.
Workshops: young people from across the country will take part in a series of workshops in preparation for the:

Regional Scottish Youth Poetry Slams: young people, selected by their peers with work developed through the workshops, compete in a Regional Slam. Winners of the Regional Slams will go forward to compete in the Scottish Youth Poetry Slam Final.
The Slam is an exciting, live event that is hosted with a guest band and three judges who score the performed poems.

Inter-Regional Slam: Tuesday 2nd October, 12-1.30pm, Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling
Inter-Regional Slam: Wednesday 10th October, 12-1.30pm, Eden Court Arts Centre, Inverness
Scottish Youth Poetry Slam 2018 Final: Wednesday 31st October, 12-1.30pm, Beacon Arts Centre, Inverclyde
