Award-winning Moray based theatre company Frozen Charlotte's production NESTS by Xana Marwick (BBC Writers Room) is touring across Scotland in September 2018. They are seeking one young male actor to work alongside professional Film & TV Actor, David McKay .

This tour is supported by Creative Scotland and is a paid opportunity supported by chaperones. Rehearsing in July/August and touring to venues and festivals in the north of Scotland including the Findhorn Bay Festival in Moray, The Barn in Aberdeenshire and others TBC.

Please note NESTS is a challenging piece of theatre and asks the young performer to portray a character who has been neglected by his family. The script is emotional and contains swearing and may not be appropriate for all individuals or their families.

NESTS 'The Boy' Character Description:

THE BOY-
A scruffy boy aged about 12, but small for his age. He is skinny and has hair that has grown out from being shaved, no style. He is wearing an oversized sweatshirt and dirty tracksuit trousers. His trainers are a bit too big for him, the laces tied very tight. He moves furtively, he is at once a frightened child and a threatening "feral youngster". The Boy is on the run having woken up inside a wheelie bin and been left to die. He has no Father and his Mother is unwell. He feels that he is invisible in the world. His one friend and ally is Crow. Crow is a real crow who he talks to. It is not made clear whether Crow actually communicates with him or it is all in his head. The Boy learns to play the drums during the course of the play so some aptitude for music is an advantage but not essential.
